The War Out West Chapter 2

Twilight was transported by chariot along with around 50 other ponies to Celestia's castle,where they were placed in a large, steel room. "Hello. My name is Mick Jack. You are here because you have signed up, or have been forced to sign up, to fight for Equestria against things that wish to oppose Princess Celestia's reign over Equestria. In just a few minutes, you will be receiving armor. After that, you will depart to the battlefield," A guard announced. There were murmurs of distaste in the crowd.The earth ponies received armor first, followed by the unicorns, and the pegasi came last. "Hey Twi,what're you doin' here?" Twilight heard a familiar voice in the crowd. It was Big Macintosh, who came over to Twilight and gave her a big hug. "As Princess Celestia's personal student, I was recruited for having exceptional magic abilities," Twilight explained. "Well then, good luck on the field," Big Macintosh said. "The royal guards of Princess Celestia wish that you have good luck and prosper," A voice came through a speaker high up on one of the walls. Then the floor disappeared, and Twilight was falling.
     Back in Ponyville, Apple Jack was sitting outside her barn thinking about Rainbow Dash, Big Macintosh, and just the war in general. "Apple Jack, honey, what's on your mind?" Granny Smith asked from her rocking chair. "My good friend, Rainbow Dash, signed up to fight," Apple Jack answered. "I thought only stallions were allowed," Granny Smith said. "She cut her hair to look like a stallion," Apple Jack explained. "You are aware she could die," Granny Smith said. "Yes, I am aware," Apple Jack responded. Granny Smith nodded. Apple Jack returned to her thoughts, thinking about what Rainbow Dash had done before leaving. One last kiss, Apple Jack thought to herself. "I have to go save her," Apple Jack said to herself before running off.
     Apple Jack arrived at Twilight's library and knocked on the door. Spike answered the door. "Where's Twilight?" Apple Jack asked. "She got sent to fight," Spike answered. Apple Jack turned and ran to Pinkie Pie's house, leaving Spike standing in the doorway.
     Apple Jack arrived at Mr and Mrs Cake's store a few minutes later. "Pinkie Pie?" Apple Jack asked. "Upstairs," Mrs. Cake answered. Apple Jack ran upstairs to see Pinkie Pie playing with gummy, her pet alligator. "Pinkie Pie, I need your help," Apple Jack panted. "Why?" Pinkie Pie asked. "Rainbow Dash, she signed up to fight in the war. We need to rescue her before she..." Apple Jack explained. "Okay-Dokey-Lokey," Pinkie Pie exclaimed. Apple Jack ran downstairs, Pinkie Pie hopping behind her. "Pinkie Pie, you still got that flying machine?" Apple Jack asked when the two got outside. "Yep!" Pinkie Pie exclaimed, running to the back of Mr and Mrs Cake's store. A few minutes later, Apple Jack and Pinkie Pie where flying towards the war zone.
     Rainbow Dash hit the ground, hard. She stood up and shook the dust out of her mane, and immediately looked around to see where she was. The surrounding buildings were in ruins, and a thin lair of ashes coated the ground. "So, where are these people we're fighting?" Rainbow Dash asked one of the nearest soldiers. "Rainbow Dash?" She heard Twilight's voice nearby. "Twilight?" Rainbow Dash asked, turning towards the voice. "Is that you? Your mane, it's so short," Twilight said. "Why are you here?" Rainbow Dash asked. "I could ask the same," Twilight responded. Suddenly, there was an explosion nearby. Twilight and Rainbow Dash turned towards the explosion, and saw another familiar face. The great and powerful Trixie stood atop a building, wearing a full suit of armor. "Trixie?" Twilight exclaimed, shocked.
     About a mile away from the battlefield, Apple Jack and Pinkie Pie were flying along. Suddenly, there was a large gust of wind and the flying machine crashed into a tree. Apple Jack and Pinkie Pie quickly hopped off the crashed machine and slid down the tree. "Pinkie, how far are we?" Apple Jack asked. "A mile," Pinkie Pie answered, tired from pedaling. "Okay. On our way then," Apple Jack said, walking in the direction of the battle zone. "Okay-dokey-lokey," Pinkie Pie said, exhausted.
